Windscreen and rear window question

Hi all!

Question for you, I recently got my 993 resprayed and they removed all the windows to make a good job. Both windows are in perfect condition.

I bought all the rubber seal that's possible as seen in various schemes. 3, 4, 6 and 7 shown below....

Now I have had 2 different car window "specalists" and they say that something is missing "maybe there is seal on the window when you buy it new".....

What am I missing?

Pleas help.
Mike

Hi Mike,
I recently did the same "all glass out" for the repaint of my 993, and the parts you listed are the ones I bought as well. The numbers 3,7 are the outer snap in seals, and they fit into the grove of the plastic built into the windshield. If that plastic outer piece is damaged, the seals will not fit, and since that is part of the glass, you would need new glass. I hope your glass guys are aware of the "shim kits" to install the window correctly, or at least have a method to make sure the glass is centered, and the rear glass is up high enough on the back so the outer rubber trim will fit properly. The link below will show the problem, and how to make sure it is installed properly.
