993 Turbo charger repairs

I recently replaced my turbos on my 96 993 turbo as they were leaking and causing the car to smoke... I sent the old ones out to have them open inspected and repaired. the turbo guy said that turbo shaft around the bearing race was worn and required replacement. my question for the group is can the left turbo be configured to fit the right ? is it as simple as moving the supporting bracket and the other parts? the turbo air side housing has the same model numbers. Help... . I dont want to spend more money then I have to.. Ron
