993 Cab roof not activating switches so won't close
Hi all, a few years ago we disconnected the mechanical part of the cabriolet hood because it was being very unreliable (as per a lot of people's suggestions) . We loosened the main bolt and disconnected the arm so we now lift it by hand and use the switch to operate the cams. I am now really struggling to close it.
The switch is not close enough to operate the cam on the left hand side (UK passenger side) with a lot of wrestling we do manage to close it, but the cam isn't securely locked, as it is not far enough forward. On one occasion the roof went from closed to open on the motorway! I can live with lifting it by hand, but I am worried I won't be able to close it and our weather is so unpredictable 😞 We have done lots of searches and found a lot of info on adjusting the hood in different ways but often that is concerning window alignment. Also sometimes a lot of the terminology is confusing as to which part is being referred to. which is the main adjustment which will allow the whole hood to move forwards? Apologies if I confuse people with the word hood, I don't mean bonnet - for hood read roof 😁 Thank you. I can add photos. |
