fuel pressure regulator fix
Hi guys,
Not sure if this is allowed so please delete if this violates any rules and my apologies in advance. Now that the factory 964 OEM Bosch fuel pressure regulators are no longer being made it seems that people are having to pay way too much for used ones or buying highly over priced brand new OEM ones from companies that have been stock piling on them. I designed an adapter that allows you too still use a Bosch regulator. its 100% bolt on to the engine and the factory lines. This one hasn't been coated yet but we are planning on doing them in the same color as the stock one. Best part is, its still can use a Bosch! I figured input on the design would be great from the 964 community. Again my apologies if this type of post is not allowed and please delete it if I am in the wrong. good day! DCraft ![]() ![]()

Genius. Nice work although the factory units are available but stupidly expensive. IIRC around $450 vs a stock bosch unit which is dirt cheap.
I see you rebuilt your fuel lines as well. What hose did you use?

As I said earlier, Bosch units aren't being made anymore but yes people/companies that still have them in stock are over pricing them which sucks. The adapter we made can still run a newer style Bosch regulator and this is priced at around $175 which will include fittings and regulator.

I prefer this design myself. There is a lot of chatter on rennlist but they might give you a hard time. I think this is a good alternative.
Just got one from a Porsche Dealership but it was for a car they own and going in their showroom. Might be tough to get otherwise. Gl I currently don’t have a need but will keep it in mind. |

Very nice Mod, Is that a 993 regulator ? As the Porsche tax goes up on all the Air cooled parts we will need more People/Companies to step up and keep our cars going at a reasonable cost. Over the last 30 years or so i have replaced a dozen or so 964 regulators that were leaking from the vacuum diaphragm but have never seen one of the later 993 style regulators leak.
I currently have 2 96 993's in my hoard and wonder if i should acquire a regulator to stick on the shelf just in case they go the same direction as the 964 part. Has anyone ever seen one of the 993 style regulators leak at the vacuum diaphragm ? Richard |

The 993 uses a pretty standard Bosch fuel regulator that is used by many marques and can be purchased in varying pressures. It isn't specific to the 993 as the one they are replacing is to the 964 or 928.
That is another consideration the 928 guys are looking for a reasonable solution as well that this should fill.

Nice, I just saw this on the Sleeper's website. As I'm trying to troubleshoot an ignition/fuel issue that happened this weekend.(Car died while driving) I'm considering replacing my FPR as a preventative measure. Is this is this plug and play? Do you need to use a fuel pressure gauge to set the bar? Apologies in advance for the noob question. Thanks!
