Hallo I’am Chris from Frankfurt/Germany with a little Problem with my 96er 993 C2 Convertible (G50/21 manual gearbox), the car is running well. My Forum in Germans can’t help me, I hope this Forum is more competent in this case.
I have a little Oel Leak at the Gear Box (please watch the pic). It runs out of the Shift Setting opening. Question: Is it possible to open the shift setting and change the seal without get problems with the shift setting after the replacement ???. I don’t want remove the gearbox to adjust the shift setting. Planned Procedure: 1) Drain the Gearboxoel 2) I mark the Position of the Eccentricsocket 3) I open the 2 Screws, take out the Eccentricsocket with the spring 4) Deploy the seal on the Eccentricsocket 5) dismantle the spring with the Eccentricsocket 6) adjust the Eccentricsocket on the previous position 7) I have fun with a excellent Shifting gearbox without a Oel leak….or I bite in the Gearbox???? Thank you from Germany for your Support… Chris Germany

hi chris, greetings from frankfurt-bockenheim. you might consider to move this thread to the 993 section. also, a more problem describing thread title might be helpful, too...

Drain the oil. Mark position of 13mm bolt. There is a square section Oring to replace, buy it from Porsche. I put a little silicone grease on the Oring, make sure it doesn’t twist when re-installing.
