Spoiler warning light stays on

As soon as the ignition is turned on the dash warning light comes on. Used to go out once a few revs were applied, but now just stays on. The spoiler goes up at the desired speed but is reluctant to go back down when you are back at low speed. The light staying on is my main problem, Have manually operated the micro switches with no change. 1995, 993
Any advice appreciated.
