Genuine Singer / 4.0 6-speed drivetrain available

Pelican

Greetings!
I am the buyer of the so-called Copart Singer. While true, it was also known as the Rowayton Commission, recognized as one of Singer’s finest efforts.

Without Singer’s cooperation, I readily admit I can’t return the car to that level of detail, though I think someone can.

Briefly, the car was part of collection that sustained various degrees of damage. This car was parked with the rear backed up to a wall, and most of the heat affected the front and sides. Causing carbon fiber to melt a making for a dismal gray look.

As I will show, the drivetrain and body shell itself survived surprisingly well - none of that “tensile strength” bit applies. The fuel cell saved the car, though it needs a new internal bladder and sending unit. The from Ohlin shocks and original oil cooler also need replacing.

I found a German. Company I believe capable of doing a very high quality level restoration. They hired 2 Bugatti clay stylists that took 2 years 2to get all the details right for carbon fiber molding. They currently are backed up on manufacturing and installation @ 18 months, and I don’t want to wait.

So, I am now offering the entire project that would include all the parts I’ve pulled from a 90 964 Cabriolet roller. This would include all dash pieces (cover is cracked) gauges, switches, steering column, cowl parts like wiper motor and transmission, wiper arms, w/s washer fluid nozzles, pump lines, etc.

I have pulled all the correct 964 ABS pump, computer, sensors, wiring, along with needed oil lines, stock oil cooler w/ motor, extra pedal assembly with clutch master cylinder. I have put stock 964 front suspension on the car so it can easily be moved. I

In short I have most everything except the Singer type externals and high style interior.

This “Reimagined by Singer” 93 964 was one of 450 built. They have done pretty well on the resale market, and Singer is now only offering “Turbo Study” cars.

The car is a surviving unicorn so there are are no comparables.

I don’t want to wait the 2 years necessary to get it finished.

To that end, I’ve decided to make the engine and transmission package available by themselves (together) or as part of a complete drivetrain dropout package that would include fresh looking Ohlin rear shocks, upgraded trailing arms, larger rotors, calipers, and custom Singer hubs (with the front ones).

I hope the pictures will give a good sense of condition. Offer could be “As-Is” or with further work done to insure viability. I have a local friend with a shop that builds Supra and BMW turbos to over 1200 HP, proven on his dyne. He is also a Porsche guy who lovingly restored his 1972 911 Targa TOTALLY.

Remember:

I am offering the complete engine and Singer built and regard (new post) transmission package

The complete rear drop out drivetrain package axles and all

Or the complete project with parts from donor car.

And/or all unused parts from the Cabriolet roller.

Please, I don’t respond to nasty comments, but if you must, go for it.

I’m looking for $200k exchange to split the drivetrain your drivetrain value is negotiable. Not responding to lower offers. Please don”t ask how much for the intake.

Cool to see this pretty local, I'm in Cleveland!

Nice find, good luck with the sale!

I'm sure someone will need it and won't want to wait.

$200K for the drivetrain or the whole car? What is the title status of the car?

The gearbox is a g50/20 with 4.0 ring and pinion and Guard LSD. One can replicate that themselves for under $20k, so it’s a $180k engine?

Stock 20 gearing...just an R&P and LSD?? Surprised to hear that.

That 4.0 r&p hardly solves the gear ratio gap issues . Just moves them around

Yep, and yep. I’ve been providing parts to them since the beginning. The big reason they started using the 6spd was because you could/can still get the 4.00 for the 6spd, but not for the 5spd. Because my gears are made for Motorsports, they make noise, and they want them to be quiet since it’s sold and marketed as a street rod.

Recently they’ve been doing quite a few of them as AWD, and the G64/51 gearbox really improves the ratios. Or, if the client wants the 4.00, they convert to 2WD and still get the ratio improvements.
