speaker trouble
Finally decided to get my Bluetooth phone working with my 1996 993 radio. Got a new JVC Bluetooth unit, got the VW/Porsche radio harness, powered up and discovered that front speakers need maintenance. Here is one of the speakers.

Are you going to rebuild them or just replace them? It might be cheaper and likely better sound quality to just replace with something new.

Found that Blaupunkts 6.5 inch that should fit right in - Blaupunkt GTX630 GTX Series GTX630 6.5-in. 300-Watt-Peak 3-Way Coaxial Speakers, Black - $27 a pair on prime. Since I replaced my cassette tape unit with a modern higher power unit the only option is to get matching technology.

The Blaupunkts worked out fine. The 6.5 inch size mounting screws fit exactly the holes in the door cards. Since blaupunkts came with the integrated tweeters I did not bother to connect the tweeters in the upper part of the doors that were on the same circuit as the main speakers.
