964 oil hose leaks.

Help! I can't seem to find the part numbers or parts for several oil hoses which are leaving buckets of oil all over my garage floor. I have a 1990 C2. It appears as if all the hoses that connect to the thermostat housing/pressure relief valve are leaking. There is also a hard hose at the back of the engine, covered by some type of protective tube that is also leaking. Ihave a few other leaks and would like to know if there is a place where there might be guidance as to how to fix, i.e., right side valve cover is leaking. Do I need to remove the heat exchanger to perform this type of work?? Any place I can turn to, to order the parts or get part numbers, and how to as to how to repair thanks Bob

Bythe way, I have the Bentley "Without guesswork" and the Bentley "Porsche 911 Entusiast's Companion for 964", a recent publication. Does anyone have plans to do a diy book like the "101 Projects" but for the 964?? It would be good to address those common 964 "issues".

The oil lines are eay to find; just go to your dealer or regular Porsche shop. We change these all the time. There are some options on the hoses that go from the tank to the thermostat.
You WILL need the coorect part number of the thermostat to make sure you get the correct hoses.

The oil tank has to come out to replace the long hose from the oil filter adaptor to the thermostat, so get the oil tank mounts, thermostat mount and the rocker panel securing clips.

The long hose from the engine to the oil filter adaptor has been superceeded to a hose with a braided hose insert rather than the original rubber with a heat shielding.

Both of the long hoses are expensive!! The engine one can b repaired by your shop. The hose from the thermostat to oil filter adaptor cen be repaired if they have the correct Porsche crimping sleeves. We have the sleeves, hose and crimper so do them at the shop.
