996 Reversing Lights
 

I own a '99 996 with a 6-spd manual, and my reverse lights won't come on whenever the car is shifted into reverse. The reverse itself works fine mechanically; just the lights wouldn't come on for some reason. I've replaced the bulbs, but to no avail. All other rear lights and fuses seem OK too, so I'm puzzled. Has anyone ever experienced the same problem with their 996?

Sounds like the switch on the transmission is bad.
