Question ball bearing from nowhere

I just pulled the motor out of my 90 C4. While diconecting the first breather to the oil tank I heard a small oject fall on the ground. My daughter later found a small ball bearing, about 2.5 mm where could this have come from? Inside the back of the filter flange or the presure relief at the top of the oil tank are my only thoughts. does any one know? thanks

Might have fallen out of your overhead garage door rollers into the back of the car. I find these on my garage floor occasionally, as the rollers fail they spit the bearings out onto whatever is below them. Just a thought.
