FYI, there is a group buy on bare circuit boards that will allow you to make your own code reader for OBD 1 cars (964 and 1995 993). It's a non-profit, public domain effort over at Rennlist. Here is the link:

I'm in for one, too, but don't have rennlist membership.

I'd much prefer one assembled. I'm prepared to make payment, including additional for assembly.
