964 Cab won't shut correctly
 

I have a '90 964 Cab that is having intermittant problems shutting. The motor and regular movement of the top seems to be fine however when the foward lip of the roof meets up w/ the top of the windshield the locking mechanism fails to lock, or move at all... there is no sound that would suggest it is physically being prevented and as far as I can tell it is seating correctly w/ the two guide prongs fitting into their holes. Any one else have/heard of this issue?

I had this problem. The top is either misaligned or one of the locking motors are bad. The easiest way to find out that is misaligned is to get two screw driver and push down on the two plastic tabs/sensor while you press the close button.

I've depressed the sensor switches on the leading edge of the convertable top and still no action on the locking mechanism...I tried using a screw driver to tighten the mechanism manually... but couldn't get a tool to seat properly, does anyone know what kind of screwdriver works w/ that?

Would the failure of one lock mechanism motor make both of the locking mechanisms not work?
