Spoiler Wall Repair
993 Purists should stop reading now.
My spoiler wall was split when I got the car. Didn't really notice it until recently (and didn't affect engine temp). But Toby mentioned that when he followed me on the track that it was flapping around in there pretty hard, so I needed to fix it. Okay, a replacement spoiler wall is not that expensive - about $80. But I'll be replacing my decklid with a fixed tail in the next year or two. Can't see wasting money a part that is going away. So I thought I'd try to fix it. Worst case, I'll get a new one. Four little hinges from the hardware store and a few pop rivets and we have this: ![]() Then I used some black reinforced duct tape on both sides: ![]() $3.50 and 40 minutes of time. And something else to laugh about on the spinning hippo.

I used that black duct tape, sold as radiator repair tape, for a while. It eventually peels off and looks ugly. I finally got a new spoiler. But since you are replacing your tail (no pun intended), this is a good temporary solution.

I always use camouflage duct tape. That way the repair is invisible.
