A/C issues in 993s

I just picked up a 993 cab w/ 32000 miles and bad A/C. Are these cars prone to the same A/C fate as my 82 SC? No one's really looked into what it needs yet, but I think on this car, I may want to try and get it working.

Whadya think?

The a/c in the 993 is worth fixing. It is a working system, unlike the retro-fit they did on the earlier cars until 89. We just had a 100+ degree day here and my 993 kept me comfy. Impossible in an SC unless you upgrade to larger condensors, compressors, etc. ;)

I agree - the AC got better in the 964, even better in the 993 and actually good in the 996.

Worth the investment - not just dead weight like in the SCs and older 911s.

There are aftermarket systems for the older 911s that do well, but the older factory system (even without the leaks and gremlins) isn't really up to cooling the interior to modern levels of comfort.
