blower fan cooling motor?
When I have been out driving for a long time and my car is at operating temp, when I turn it off, then turn the key to the on position but do not start it the fan comes on. Does this help the motor cool faster? or am I a knucklehead?

Yes, it helps cool the motor. Totally normal. It will even run with the key in the off position.
