'99 Carrera Seats

Hi all,
I just came into a couple of '99 Porsche seats that I may put into an older '76 Porsche. I have a couple of questions regarding the controls on these seats. First they are all manual EXCEPT the rear (back) adjustment. The back adjustment works fine but I am confused on how the lever next to and forward of the seat back adjustment switch operates. This lever is attached to a cable that attaches to a cylinder rod located under the seat. It appears that pulling up on this lever releases a pin on the rod attached to the cylinder. What does this lever do? It appears to raise/lower the seat but I can't be sure, hence the question.

Also the levers near the top of the seat backs appear to be working fine except the seats will not fold forward. Is there some prerequisite (electrical maybe) to getting them to work other than they are mechanically attached properly.

Lastly, has anyone put these later seats into an older 911 and modified the seat rails? If so, what advice and/or directions can you offer?

Thanks in advance for any info.

John

Supposedly you have to bend some tabs up and maybe drill a couple of holes in the lower slider. But the sliders are 16" on center just like every Porsche since 1974, so it should work without much headache.
