993 c2s euro spec?

So whats the deal with a Euro spec c2s? Is it a good thing, or not as good as american spec? I guess I want to know if there will be more issues with a euro spec as apposed to US with regard to legal stuff? Will there be problems or will the possable good offset the bad etc. My bro is looking at one and he just doesn't know about it (niether do I)

RoW n/a are OBD1, 55 pin DME. no secondary air. This is all good. But US EPA and DoT may have other thoughts.

A 993RS or 964RS is on the ok list to import for show and display, so some of the regs can be waved for those models don't know about S's.

The US cars have OBD2 w/ it's more stringent monitering of emissions, both onboard and at inspection time. Also has secondary air injection which includes ports that are prone to blockage and pipes that are prone to rust.

Ride height of US cars is also considerably above RoW spec, this can be fixed w/ a new suspension.

Not really, but again it depends on your needs and local regs.

I wanted a 993RS but the cost of federalization was prohibitive. Not to mention the very unfavorable doller to Euro exchange rate.

If you are living in the US a US car is the way to go. You can lower it and do whatever the local inspections allow you to get away w/.

At a minimum, I would put a good fully height adjustable Bilstein suspension under any of them, beyond that the sky is the limit as to what you can do.
