fuse blowing regularly..
'90 C4 cab...the 25-amp fuse for the passenger compartment blower fan is blowing about once every 1-2 weeks right now. i know it's about to blow when the fan settings really don't matter- it will blow as hard or as softly as it wants. i'm guessing this spells the impending doom of said blower. how sayeth the board?? :(
i've given thought to using 30-amp fuses, but figure that might just accelerate the final death throes. how sayeth the board..it's drawing too many amps as it is, no? SmileWavy |
If it is blowing fuses, it is definitely drawing higher than full load amperage.
Could be the bearings seizing or the brushes worn down to tension springs. My driver side blower is starting to squeal slighltly and getting scared of the diy due to accessibility of these blowers. |

oh...and the roughly $450 for the part doesn't exactly feel like a kiss on the cheek either..

how many blowers are there, btw? i've got intermittent squeal from one or 'the one', too. hitting the defrost button spins it up and 'rights it' for a little while. you might try that if you haven't already..seems to maybe re-seat the bearing.
