MAF ; Great 964 Upgrade ! In the TOP 5
I recently did the MAF upgrade with the Vitesse Racing MAF and chip , and all I can say is WOW. A over 50 bhp gain from bolt on parts . tested on the dyno
Today I took it for a quick spin to the store for a Mountain Dew. Well that is the story I told the wife, I have been just dying to take the car out for a ride all weekend. That ride was a 2 hour ride of just fun! I really can't get over the smooth crisp power. All the way though the RPM range. I mean this is like a new car , and the throttle response is amazing . I can't get over how fast it gets to the RED Line. and Smooth just smooth. This changed the car and power so much that there are a few points that I had the relearn today because of the speed it can get up to now. So as you can tell , I am really happy with my upgrade ,and John with Vitesse was great to work with . Very knowable and precise in his work. Attached is his site. http://vitesseracing.com/ I am thinking that this is the top of the bolt on performance upgrades you can do to the 964 1. MAF Kit 2. Cat bypass 3. Primary bypass 4. Blistien HDs 5. TRG sways Non Bolt on 1. LWT Fly kit 2.? 3.? Any thoughts?

I am surprised by your claim of a 50 hp gain from just switching airflow sensor from barndoor to 993 type hot wire throttle body. Did you also do exhaust mods and is the car still emissions legal?

I think you are comparing the 3.2 data to the 3.6 data, looks to me like 3.6 pulled 258 HP this would be 11 more than stock which is reasonable, 50 would be outrageous.

The dyno chart is for HP/TQ at the wheels. A 258rwhp translates to 303.5 Crank HP with a 15% drive train loss, or 293 crank hp with a 12% loss.

Read here for a bottom line comparison with a stock 964 (using AFM),
which indicates basically no improvement as has always been the case for this mod: http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/showthread.php?t=395273
