964: tight rear end

Mirage completely reworked the rear end of my 90 C2 track car:

1. ERP spring plates. Besides the monoball, they feature independent camber and toe adjustment.

2. ERP control arm bushings.

3. Prototype drop links from Tarett. Besides the monoball, they feature length adjustment to eliminate any preload.

I believe I have all the rubber out of the rear end, but I was corrected when I made the same statement about the front.

I have the same rear end (except the 'brand' of drop links). It helped tame my rear end's miss behavior and allowed me to get the camber I needed (0.0°) for the tires I run (bias ply slicks). After a year or more, I'm still happy with it.

I also have just about the same front suspension as Kris. Maybe I'll join the POC folk at Laguna Seca in September (you coming up for that Kris?).

Yes, I will be at Laguna Seca with POC, but it is August 22-24, not September. It will be my first time driving that track (been a spectator there, though) and I am still doing time trials, not racing yet. But we should definitely get together and compare notes.

This is the single, most significant change so far, and this car and I have gone through a lot of individual changes. I am really glad that I did the front a few months ago so that I could feel the difference each end made. The front was nice, but the rear is awesome!

Going into this build, my car had a high speed push (i.e. corner exit above 80mph). I didn't mention it above, but we also stiffened the rear springs from 900 to 950#, hoping to cure the push. However, the new rear end has so much additional grip that I still have the push, even after I tightened the rear sway bar all the way and set the front to full loose. I think we may need to soften the fronts springs next (from 650#).
