Rare? - RHD 993 C2 Cab w/ 6 speed tranny
Hi all,
Trying to figure out if I'm onto a good deal or not with a 993 C2 Cabby I came across recently. The two key features that might set it apart are that it is a RHD car and it has a 6 speed tranny. Does anyone have any information like production numbers, etc. on the 993 C2 Cabs, specifically those with a manual tranny? Thanks in advance for any help. |

p-car.com This only shows you cabriolet production ROW by year. I would presume that most have manual boxes.

All 993's with a manual transmission have a 6-speed.

Don Plumley - Thanks for the helpful link. I'm looking for build numbers for specific countries, and this car is located in Hong Kong, where I believe there are only a handful of 993 manual Cabs. Most Porsches in Hong Kong (I'd hazard a guess and say upwards of 95%) are ordered with a Tip.
Tow W - I think you misread my post, I was using the terms "6-speed" and "manual" interchangeably. |

I simply wanted to be clear (in case that's not what you were implying). There is nothing rare about a 993 with a 6-speed (cab or coupe) in the rest of the world. From other Rennlister's in HK, I know how difficult it is to find 993s in HK though.

![]() From Don Plumley's link, it definitely does not look like manual 993s are rare at all! However, Excellence had some good feedback on 993 prices in the May issue (I think it was May), and the US$ prices are comparable to what the one I saw in Hong Kong was going for. Hopefully *fingers x-ed* a combination of rarity and spec will allow for some appreciation in value over the next few years! |
