964 1991 AC leaking

Hi there,
My 964 AC is not working.
I had the compressor changed. It worked for 10 days, then no more cool air.
I took it back to the garage telling me the evaporator had to be changed.
I changed it, and 10 days later, no more cool air again.
I have already spent 2400Eur on the AC. No big trust on the garage.
1) should I pay the garage for the second repair ?
2) What should i do to avoid having him replace the whole car instead of finding the main leak ?

Thanks for your help

Take it somewhere else, have them refill with dye, and recheck. Should not be a big deal to find a leak that size, 10 days is not a long time. I know on my car they had to do the condensor before I got it, and I seem to recall a few others had the same leak. Good luck.

Garage
Walk away from that shop and take it to a different shop. Good a/c shops will pressurize the system and do a leak test using a electronic leak detector to be able to tell you which component is leaking and needs replacing instead of shooting in the dark and making you spend on unecessary parts. Good luck.

Ojov my AC used to leak from one of the hoses coming from the compressor. They have tiny pinholes in them and if the inner liner ruptures you will see a little bit of oil around those pinholes. Check your hoses and see if you may have that problem.

Take it to a reputable shop and get it properly diagnosed and fixed. Document your expenses and send the other shop a bill. I would request some sort of compensation from the shop for incorrect diagnosis. They need to be accountable and not just off hand say something is defective.
