WTB: Coupe for track project
I've decided this winter would be a good time to build a track car for DEs at MMP, and possibly some MPRA racing next summer. Besides, I'm out of projects for my 91 Cab.
So I'm looking for a 90-94 coupe under $20k. I'm watching the usuals such as Autotrader, Cars.com, Pelican, RL, etc., but perhaps someone has what I need. Half the fun is building the car along with my son, so I'm not looking for 'track' cars with the appropriate pricing for all the mods. My only firm requirements are: 1.) Coupe 2.) Manual 3.) No major accidents or straightened frames 4.) Engine reasonably solid. Minor things like oil leaks, dist belt etc. are fine. But in need of top end or rebuild jobs, I'm wary. Basically a good set of leakdown numbers. Yes, I enjoy the project, but I'm not a masochist. 5.) No pink or purple cars I really don't care much about the exterior or interior condition, or if the AC or CCU works. I could care less about the stereo installed. Mods like H&R/Bilstein I'm not willing to pay for as I will be installing new JIC coilovers. I don't care about the clutch/flywheel condition as I'll be installing a new LWF. Same for the brakes. I'd like to keep the mileage under 100k. So basically a stock car that has been well maintained with regular oil changes and valve adjustments, has not been wrecked, is due for some regular 17 year/80k maintenance such as clutch, brakes, AC, valve adjust, dist belt, engine mounts etc., and has some normal wear and tear on the exterior/interior. Please drop me an email if you have, or know of, something that fits the bill. Thanks, Doug Last edited by ddubois; 11-07-2008 at 09:33 AM.. |
