Name that wheel... (OEM Porsche)

Hello fellow Porkers,

Anyone an idea about the "name" of this wheel ? I know it was on the 964 and 968 cars. It is not a Cup 17" wheel...
I know that it is a 16" wheel but does someone know something about wheeldepth ? 55 ? 55,5 ?
Can I still use the spacers on the rear or do I have to remove the spacers ??

Thanks in advance !

Dick911

they are a close variant of the "Design 92" wheels aka "Cup 1"

6x16ET52.3
7x16ET55
8x16ET52

you'll have to do a trial fit to see if you want spacers or not , they were used on 964 w/o spacers w/205/55 & 225/50 tires and did have clearance for chains(winter use in snnow country)

Thanks Bill !

Usefull information.
One last question and I hope you can help :

Now I have the 993 wheels (also 16", see picture below...).
They came with the car when I bought it.
Any idea if these are the same size ? My current wheels are clearly marked at the front wheel with 7 & 55 beside the valve; at the rear wheel it is marked with 9 & 70 ... (huh ? that wide ??)

I am sure about fitting the front wheels but the marks on the rear wheel are confusing me. Will those Design 92 wheels have exactly the same fit as my current wheels ?

I do not want to walk in additional costs like other spacers, removing spacers, etc. etc.

Thanks and kind regards,

Dick911

Those are 16" off a 993, they are a Speedline look wheel sometimes called "Design 93" not to be confused w/ "Cup Design 93" which was the more usual 17" 993 wheel, IMO one of the nicest 16s out there.

8x16 ET70
9x16 ET70

OK, thanks again Bill.

Clear enough for me: no change of wheels
I 'll stay at the 993 wheels (they're not bad at all...).

Regards,
