track car project help needed wont crank

Ok i had the starter tested today and it is fine. the car will not turn over the fuel pump works and all check lights come on but car will not crank. Does the 1995 993 require the clutch pedal to be depressed to start, i have tried but still nothing. I bought this car as a project and was told the car ran fine but needed a transmission i want to make sure the engine is good before i invest in a transmission any help would be great, i also set off the car alarm messing with the keys how do i reset it? i disconnected the battery for now. any help would be appreciated.

Depending on which model 95 you have, you might have drive block, and this would prevent it from starting. You might check over on rennlist, as it is a very active 993 site.
Congrats on the 993 project. I looked for the longest time, and could not find a 993 project car.

You should not need to press the clutch
Is there an after-market alarm - that is usually the biggest culprit.

Otherwise:
DME Relay
Drive Block

what happens when you turn the key to start ??
do you hear clicks or anything ??

if you know the starter is good go through the following trying the ignition after every step ....
connect a jumper-lead from starter body to chassis earth .
connect a jumper lead from starter body to battery - .
connect a jumper lead from a GOOD battery to starter+
connect a temp wire/screwdriver from starter+ to the smaller starter switched+ (will turn the starter )

basic elimination .
eg: if it cranks with jumper lead from starterbody to chassis , you have a problem with ground(earth) wire to chassis !!
if it turns when the 2 starter + are shorted with temp wire or screwdriver you have a problem with switched+ from ignition switch !! look at switch and any immobiliser circuits or seeing as its a track car , rip it all out and fit emo/marshall keys and a starter button !! ( i'm not sure what a "drive block" is .)

my guess would be drive block. To eliminate it you will need a new chip and there is a relay that needs to be jumped.
