Distributor Ventilation Kit
I tried to install a vent kit for my 964 today. Once I removed the oval plate on the distributor, I couldn't get the plastic vent to fit in the oval opening. I tried everything including forcing the damm thing, sanding it down to fit, and I finally ended up breaking it. What did I do wrong? I order two more vent kits just in case I screw up again. What is the secret of installing this kit? It looks so simple.

Please list the model and year of your car when asking a question.
The vent goes in the hole on the "main" part of the distributor (the part actually driven by a shaft) It is also possible that you had a defective kit.

Hi, I thought I'd bring this thread back to life.
I'm about to do a twin plug conversion on my turbocharged 3.2 motor. I'm planning to slip in a 964/993 distributor and would like to do this ventilation kit mod before I install the distributor. Can someone give me some instructions on how this mod is done? Much appreciated.

I think the fan duct provides positive pressure which is what you want. If you see pics of cup cars (no heater), there is an adapter on the side of the fan shroud. I'll dig for one...

Right, OK... that makes sense. I have a back-date duct bolted to the fan shroud, so I might just tap that with a nipple and vent it to that instead?
Thanks, Don
