Rear wheel spacers???

I am thinking about adding some rear wheel spacers to my 1991 C2. I just want to fill out the wheel well a little bit (for effect). What is the "ideal" spacer to use? If I go above a certain size I understand I will need to replace the studs - what is the magic #? Are there any "cons" to adding spacers?

Probably there was a previous discussion on this - I am sorry if this is redundant.

P.S. - I have stock 16" rims on my car.

You can add 5mm spacers without changing wheel studs. With 16" wheels, you could use thicker spacers, but you should then get longer studs.
