Porsche 993 Gemballa, Ground Effects, Valance Seal or Weatherstripping?
A big Hello Porsche Enthusiast,
I bought a 1997 993 Porsche Gemballa at a drug-seized auction for a song. The car has the full Gemballa ground effects package S-biplane tail, front air dam valance and side valances, etc. When I purchased the car it had a horrible Earl Scheib $300.00 "special" paint job on it, the jokers their even painted over the rubber seals that attach the side valances to the body Ugh! The paint job has since been rectified with a new expensive paint job, the car looks great! However, my body man could not use the rubber valance seals that were on the car previously because they were painted over which brings me to the point of my post, does anybody know where I can get new rubber side valance seals? The Gemballa valances mount pretty darn flush but there are still some gaps, I would like it to look smooth and flush. I've all ready tried Gemballa in Germany and in Malibu and all over the Internet but have had no luck finding side skirt/ground effects seals or weatherstripping. Is there any Ideas/options available and or manufactures you might know of? Thanks!

A picture of the old stuff would help.
I used VW beetle fender welt to seal my front splitter, may work for you but the bead is rather large.. |
