Seems like there oughta be info on straightening these but I'm not finding it. I'm assuming most of the central upward bowing is the result of bottoming the front in transitions. Does anyone have experience short of buying new? Can it be blocked back into position?

First, thanks. I'll check it more.
Second, what search terms are you using? I'm got little when I used 964 grill, vent, bow, bend, etc. I'd rather follow an established thread but really appreciate the replies here.

It's a relief to find that this is something that won't keep me from buying a frowning 964. Remove superficial stuff, tweak mounts, replace stuff. Hopefully there's nothing serious hidden. Deutsche orthodontics. And realize that someone has driven the thing into a transition without knowing that it wasn't their Rover. Hmmm. Guess it's maybe a bit of a bad sign after all.
