1990 964 C4 Clutch Problem

I recently had a new clutch installed about 3 months ago on my 1990 C4. Clutch feels good but smells like is burning if you slip it or down shift. Smell is very strong in the cab. Never had this problem with original clutch. Any thoughts on what would be causing this?

IMO it's the coating burning off and/or breaking in.
Can you ask the installer? If so, it sounds like they would know this issue right away...

unrelated to your burning smell problem.. what type of clutch did you have installed? OEM? If you don't mind me asking...how much was it plus install? (I have to get one of my 90' 964 C4 also

I had the same occur on my new clutch...also 90 C4. It went away after a few weeks of daily driver use. Prior to that it was used infrequently.
