993 Tiptronic directly engages 2nd when sloted in D

1995 Carrera facing following issue:

The tiptronic works perfectly on both the steering wheel and the gear shift, but when one engages the gear to D position the gear engages directly to 2nd gear and not 1st.

Any ideas what could be the cause/reason for this?

On my 964, this is normal, as it is programmed to start in 2nd when in "D" mode. It would immediately downshift to 1st if the accel is pressed down quickly.

The 2nd gear start is designed to save gas in normal driving.

That's normal. If you put it into 3rd instead of D, it will start in first.

thx guys another one

Any idea how one could restore a windshield wiper assemble set up that is currently on wrong side (not on drives side!)of the windscreen?

Are the internal arms/mechanism connecting to the motor switchable/reversable? Or one needs to get a brand new assembly to make this correction happen thx cheers

Reversing wiper rest position is a popular modification for shorty drivers. ;) This is how the modification is done. I would follow these instructions - backwards:

Wiper reversal

Cheers,

George

Hi

Just to add that if the car is cold it will pull away in 1st even though in D. Try it!
