89 C4 Clutch Fitment
Seems I ran into a problem with clutch fitment:
Rebuilding engine and want to install new clutch. No way no how am I going to use the rubber hockey puck. Single mass flywheel, so already relatively light there. Purchased a 1990 Turbo clutch disk (964-116-014-63-M38), but it interferes with the flywheel bolts. Have debated removing the rivets in the disk and moving the center flange to the other side of the friction plate. But I'd rather not. I also purchased a used aluminum 1990 turbo pressure plate, but that won't fit either. Is there an aluminum pressure plate that will work with this single mass flywheel and the longer bellhousing? If one of these is too cost prohibitive, then I'll use the stock one. Which clutch disk will work? Will this clutch work (996-116-015-32-M38) the RS version? Thanks, Rob
