Correct tire pressure
I have a 95 993 c2 w 18 inch turbo twist wheels. Can someone tell me the correct tire pressure?
The tag on the door dose not show 18s and I am finding a lot of conflicting info. Thanks. |

I put 36psi in fronts and 44psi in rears, but I'm sure everybody uses different psi

The factory recommendations were for a specific tire, or perhaps a group of tires. Regardless, to some extent they should be seen as a starting point rather than a hard and fast specification.
Try what Opo likes (I hear he has several cars...) and see how you like it. Then try pressures up and down from there and see if you think they're better or worse. Wednesday morning before leaving for work I set my tire pressures to the factory level; I'd been running significantly less but with the switch to snow tires it wasn't enough. The temperature that day was 30F. On the way to work, I liked the change some, but thought that maybe they were a little too hard. I made no changes, however. Thursday morning it was 55F. It made for a hyperactive, squirrely drive. Friday was back to low 30s, and the ride was improved. None of the changes were subtle; play with your pressures and see what works for you. |
