993 Clear front flashers

Good morning,

I'm planning to get clear corners at front on my 993. I have seen european style which I prefer, but they are different of mine ( amber ).

Do I only need to remove the bumperettes and get the european style, or I need to modify the housing...

I'm asking before purchasing @ 185,00 I want to be sure,,,

Thank you.

You will need to have some minor body and paint work done to your front bumper. When you remove each bumperette, there is a section that is cut out behind it which goes above the height of the turn signal for mounting. You will need to have these areas filled in and painted. The euro clear turn signals are longer than the original amber ones, and will take up the "gap" where each bumperette was mounted.

There are clear corners in euro bumper and NA bumper styles. While the euro style is cleaner looking without the bumperettes, as bxtech pointed out will require some minor bodywork. However, you can buy clear corners for cars with bumperettes and will not need any bodywork.

I decided to keep the bumperettes and just bought the clear corner lens to fit the same as the OEM yellows. Others go through the effort of removing the bumperette and having the body work done. If you do the body work, the lens is a different length.

Also, you will need to remove the bulb socket from the old housing and install it in the new one. It just rotates and pulls out. Check with the supplier of the clear corner housing because I found the bulb that came with the new lens housing had a different pin connection than the stock one. This means you also need to buy two bulbs. You want the ones that look clear behind the clear corners but flash yellow and have the pin connections for the stock socket.

Where can I purchase clear corner lenses that fit with the bumerets?
Our host only seams to have the euro aplication available.

Thanks

I swapped over to the clear corners on my old 993. Back when I did this I had to buy the euro lenses and cut them down to the correct size. There will be a small hole from cutting them that you will need to fit a piece of the scrap into. I used some super glue to put this piece in and then some clear silicone to seal it. When they are mounted in the car the end that is cut is hidden by the bumperette.

Cdill, do you have pictures of how you cut them? Or can you tell us what you use to cut them and how you measure the right measurement, I have a set that I need to cut, thanks

Clear corners for US (bumperette) bumpers are not available as standard - the only way is to buy the clear EU and cut them down.
