Help!! Radio removal
Does anyone know how to remove a CR-1 radio? It's the am/fm cassette that is cd compatable. I purchased the 2 "knife" tools to remove the radio, but there are no provisions for the tool!!! I'm trying to remove the 10 disc CD changer wiring. Any help would be appreciated!!! FYI, I have the repair manual and it doesn't cover radio removal. Thanks for any help. again!!

the knife edge slides into the sides after you take the trim cover off and they release a spring loaded clip. With both tools in place, pull radio out. Once you see it apart, it will make sense, but of course, that doesnt help you now..

I have the trim cover off and no "slits" are visible for the tools. The slits should be on the bottom left/right hand corners horizontally, right? If it matters, this is a 95 993. Thanks....

oh thats right, they used the latches. you dont need the tools, once the cover is off you will see to small round 'discs' on the sides. you have to move them upward against the spring pressue to relaese the radio.
