Clutch Upgrade

Thinking about upgrading the clutch and flywheel on my 95 993 C2...

been looking at several options and just looking for some inputs from anyone who has had previous experience with these kits
Pelican Power Clutch Kit
SPEC Stage 2+
Spec Stage 5 (might want to autocross, also would I be able to use the OEM flywheel with this clutch? would an upgrade to a Spec aluminum flywheel be a necessity?)
RS Single mass flywheel and clutch kit

Is your current clutch bad?

During my engine top-end rebuild I replaced a dual mass flywheel and clutch with the RS-like unit from Patrick Motorsports because they are the only ones that had the Turbo-style flywheel (different pick-up points for the flywheel sensor).

The install was great except for the step where the throw out bearing is locked into the pressure plate. I took the pieces to a local AAMCO Transmission shop and they did it on their press for $20.

After about 6 months of driving I no longer notice the stronger pedal and faster RPMs due to the lighter flywheel. I only stalled the car a few times at first when I wasn't paying attention and relaxed my left foot a bit too much.

I wish the car had come this way from the factory. Oh, and the price for all the parts and materials (gear oil, special Porsche grease, cleaners, and rags) came to about $2500.00.

Good Luck,
Mark
