tiptronic transmission
A question for the group -- hopefully someone has an answer.
Is the 964 tiptronic and the 993 tiptronic the same transmission? If they are different is the 993 substantially better than the 964? Thank you in advance for the responses. Jim |

993 964?
I am actually looking for the same answer.
Im new to Porsche and got myself a 964 triptronic however after a few months I find that the transmission is have problems with gear change. So I thought of doing a 993 triptronic swap but is it possible? Is it the same and what are the pros and cons of it? Thanks! Brian

Triptronic
I thought I was having issue with my 91 c2. I spoke with the guy at Porsche. He knew a bunch. The fluid and screen should be changed 60 k miles. They should shift well at high rpm. And seem sluggish or strange in lower rpm. A new one will still feel the same. He could have sold me one. They were built very well and work best at higher rpm. Anyway. That was what I was told.
