Where is my AC Dryer/Receiver on C2
Ok am I blind? Want to add some R134a and can't seem to locate my Dryer/receiver. Looked at the left front fender - not there - Help!

I'm not sure where to add freon, but I'm pretty sure your C2 uses R12 unless you've had it converted.

It's in the left front fender..
Why do you need to find the receiver? All the recharging is at the compressor.. 1990 964 would still be r12 unless converted. if it doesn't work. check the electrics first, soemtimes the condenser fan resistor burns out; compressor will not cut in. |
I had it converted to R134a - It worked for several months - but needs recharging - I was going to attempt.
Is it that difficult? In wayne's 101 it's listed as a two wrencher - And I think I am capable of that. Was looking for the receiver/dryer for the glass bubble to check charge level. Is it hard to do? Am I getting over my head. I only use the AC in the summertime and on all the sports cars I have had, typically the freon escapes during the six months that it is not used. |
