My Wife's boss is an old Porsche man from way back, he now wants to buy a 2002 996 Twin Turbo. I have gotten him away from spending 150k on a car and he has asked me what are the difference between the 993 and the 996. Besides about 70k dollars. Transmission? Horsepower? Is the 993 a Turbo? Single? twin? Comfort, ride etc. He also wants to know if there are any books out there that will help him in this buying choice. I know nothing about any porsche over a 1989 so I am really no help.
Thanks in advance.. cc:911 Forum (lol)

993's are air cooled and come in N/A and twin turbo configurations as well as widebodies and AWD. The turbo is AWD. 996's are water cooled and also come in the configurations as the 993. I personally like the 993's better. I believe the 993's are 282hp and the turbo is 408hp. The 996 if I remember correctly is 320hp and and 415hp for the turbo.
