New Paint Respray COST???

I want to get your opinion. What should it cost toget a quality paint job with no major body work simply a sand mask and respray. This would be at a quality body shop not Earl Schibe. Your thoughts apreciated! If you have actually had this done even better!!!

A quality paint job should run atleast $3500. To me a quality paint job involves more than sanding and masking however. It involves removal of trim, lights and glass. To do anything less is not worth it in my opinion.

Restoring and touching up old paint is a better route than a cheap paint job if your paint isn't completely gone. You can lightly wet sand with 2000 grit then 4000 and compound paint to look new if your clearcoat isn't completely gone. I did this recently on my 92' Mercedes and it looks better than my neighbors brand new Expedition. Of course comparing a Mercedes paint job to a Ford isn't fair even if my car is ten years older.

Take your car to a good detailer or body shop and let them have a look see.
