Show us your accelerator pedal

How many folks have a spacer/lift mounted on their gas pedal to improve positioning? I am trying some alternatives and am looking for ideas. It's all in the name of ergonomics but if you have a little bling to show that's fine too.

It's not a 964 or 993, but it is an accelerator pedal

$4 piece of aluminum from the hardware store, some cutting and drilling, and voila, an easier pedal to heel-toe with.

Sorry if the pic is not oriented correctly...my iPad does that...

Do most track guys expect to modify their cluster configurations from stock?

The tab at the bottom looks like what a lot of the aftermarket pedals have to make it easier to operate simultaneously with the brake. It is my impression that the 964 arrangement is different from the earlier 911 and that often a platform or spacer is used to bring the level of the accelerator up towards the driver.

Here's one I poached. It's very nice but I cannot see that any spacer is used.

I don't know if the pedal cluster configuration is different from older 911s but to me it's easier to heel/toe my '72 than my 964. Anyone else find it different from their older cars?

Here's one 964 owner solution that I love. $150k Cup car.

No pic but I just installed the srp set. So far I really like it. Ill grab a pic later. Thewidth of the extra tab is just enough. I did not adjust the pedal position, I found it sits just right.

A lot of folks are running stock accelerator pedals but the in the cases where they have been modified the two common themes are:
A tab at the bottom
A lift to bring the overall pedal height towards the driver.

In my case I feel that I need the height more than the tab. I don't use anything in my '72 so the pedal heights must be different. Or am I delusional?

Check out rennline, they have lots of options.. fully adjustable or plate you screw onto the oem (pic with the red tabs to the left) for me adding the rennline metal pedal add on and adjusting the length of the metal ball joint piece behind the petal have me a good heel&toe setup. Simple and love it.. street and on the track.

In a thread in the main 911 area a poster suggested putting some washers under the accelerator pedal where the rightmost mounting screw goes thru. It tips the pedal towards the brake. Cheap and reversible, it sounded good.

Yes, a lot of the 911 guys are on it. I'm surprised 964 owners aren't more so since I find the pedal cluster benefits more from customization in my 964. I now have a 1/2" test block secured to my pedal and love it. I may fine tune it another 1/4".

I hadn't thought about tilting it at all. Does anyone have a photo of that?
