New Wheels, Anything to watch out for, what fits ?

Hi Guys,
On the new 964, it came with stock C2 rims. Lots of curbs grinds from said mother, flaking chrome and new Big O tires, yep and them tires are directional too ! Who would have known Big O had directional tires..
Anyways, I would like to put turbo twist wheels on my car with S02's. Good ?? Bad ?? I don't want to run adapters and I would prefer oem wheels, but can get a good deal on those wheels from Italy.
Any info would help.
thanks,
Don

Assuming you are going for 17" wheels.
Make sure the offset is correct and get the right size tires.
S-02 are not in production anymore, the repalcment is the S-03 (imaginative or what?).

You might have to roll the front and rear fender lips, depending if the car is lowered. make sure the wheel/tire doesn't rub on the oil linein the right hand rear frame rail.

17 Turbo twists

I have turbo twists on my C4 and they fit fine. I noticed that I was getting increased wear on the outside of the read tires which was not as noticable with the stock 16in. Recommend that you have a 4 wheel alignment done if you suspect any problems in this area. Not as expensive as you may believe.

Tchuss!

Out of curiousity, what brands of wheels would be recommended for someone wanting to upgrade from stock 16" wheels to 17" wheels. My car is a 964 C4.

Thanks,

Bill Wagner

I just bought a set of five spoke 17" Boxster wheels and tires from Suncoast Porsche for my '90 C2 coupe. I ordered the set on Monday and they were delivered on Thursday. They bolted right on with no spacers needed, and there is no tire rub.

The wheels are 7" fronts with 55mm off-set, and 8.5" rears with 48mm off-set. The tires Pirelli P-zero.

Suncoast ( www.suncoastmotorsposrts.com ) has posted a picture of my car in the "Gallery" section of their website. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, just a satisfied customer.

Hi guys,
I almost forgot to pass on my many thanks for the input. After looking at the different options I ended up paying a few more bucks over used and bought dealer take off's too. I got mine from Wheel Enhancement. They are local to me and I was able to drive over during lunch, look at all the choices and man to they have allot of wheels in stock ! I wanted to go big, but did not want the ride to suffer since I need to haul the kids around in the 911 too.
I thought the Boxster S wheels looked the best next to my car and gave it that needed updated look.
thanks again,
Don

TELL ME ABOUT IT !!!!!!
The strut is Back order and has been. Porsche cant even get them. I call amost every day on them and nada. Another week is all I get. At least Im getting two out of the shippment over the Porsche dealership since we spend more with this vendor than they do.
Ok, so stock Bilstein or Sport and which springs ? I get so many different thoughts on this..Im told H&R Green spring are the way to go. I have a set of low miles C2 Turbo spring (M30) with green makings, but is that the same....I would think they are different since a heaver car ?
Since I have small kids that that ride in the car, I really do not want a really stiff ride, more just the stance.

My ears are open.....

Don,

i have the H&R green springs (not sure of what other color options there is) on my '91 C2

the ride is firm, but not too bad for a few hours worth of driving...
