993 Rear lid struts replacement help
 Gents I have a 1995 993 with 50K miles. The rear spoiler is kind of heady and the struts are worn out. I need to replace them but I do not know how to do it. Does any one have some video or has done it before that can share with me.

This is straight forward, except for the access. I did mine while the engine was out. Easy then, especially when you drop a clip - you will actually find it again!

If your car is stock, get the original struts from Porsche. They are not all equal and the ones I intstalled for a local owner who bought aftermarket struts were far too strong and flung the engine deck open at warp speed...thats hard on the hinge attach points. Your choice! |
Why replace your gas struts when you can get them repaired / recharged for about $25.00 each. Most cities have mobile service and you can advise at the time of repair what the function is and how much weight they will carry. He can compensate the pressure for a correct fitment.
Simple, easy, and convenient. |
