is there a starter relay R61 on manual 993s?

Hello,

everything is in the title.
I would be interested in knowing from owners of manual 993s if they have a relay on the port R61 of the fuse box.

I experienced a weird problem with my car:
see http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=464222
and i wonder if there is always a starter relay on port R61 on manual 993s.

I can read on the fuse index that this relay should only come with vehicle equipped with tiptronic transmission. Is it true?

The thing is that on today, my manual 993 can't start without this relay.

Let me know
Thank you!

Salut Cedric

My 96' euro OBD 1 has also this relay = the relay is activating the starter
The relay is activated by the immobilizer.
U can jump it by wiring Pin 7 to Pin 3 (immobilizer signal to Borne 30)
or order special jumper

Bonne chance

R61 on manual 993

Cedric,

You've probably got the answer to this by now...my 1996 993, US delivery, has a manual gearbox. It has R61. I had a problem where the engine would not crank over. It was bad R61, not the DME really, R53, as some have written.

I tested it by removing R61: no crank. Replace R61: cranks over.

Buena suerte,

Ron
