Oil

I have put about 1000 mi on my car since I bought it. I check my oil from time to time and as I have learned here 911 motors will burn oil. I have two issues here - one, did 96 993 use mobil 1, two, the dip sitck sucks, I think I have it figured out but any input would be appreciated.

Had my 97 993 Cabriolet for 1 week now, traded in my 87 Cabriolet:
I agree the dipstick sucks!!
However, with the 993 you use the dash gauge as your primary oil level indicator and not the dipstick.
Another thing I found out, the hard way, don't have the oil filled to full factory spec unless on a extremely hot days you like oil coming out the filler tube and onto your exhaust.
Trust me, it's not pleasant seeing oil smoke billowing out the wheel wells first time you arrive home with your new toy.......
