Cluctch and Flywheel
I need to replace my clutch and flywheel. Do you think I should go with the stock or upgrade to something else? Are the light weight flywheels worth it?

Stock lasted 100k miles for my 1993 model. They are a lot gentle to the drivetrain due to the damping feature of the DMF FW.

964 or 993?
You did not specify whether you have a 964 or a 993. If you have a 964, suggest staying with stock. If you have a post 95 993, I would suggest looking at the LWF and RS clutch package. The LWF does not have the rubber core, so will last a long time, and the engine will spin so much better than with the heavy dual mass flywheel. Also, the dual mass flywheels have a rubber component that will degrade with time and miles. And, it is considerably heavier than the LWF.
I have the LWF and RS package in my 98 993 and really like it in comparison to the DMF. The 95 993 experiences stalling issues when fitted with the LWF. Hope that helps.

It's a 93 964. It is a DMF and the rubber component in the middle has worn out. Sounds like stock is the way to go. Thanks guys.

Steve Weiner at Rennsport may have a 19lb solid unit available; less weight than stock, more than the RS units.
