Any known problems with C4's?

I'm also looking at a '91 Carrera 4 Targa. Is there anything about the C4 is should worry about? How is reliability?

Cant go wrong with a C2/4, but as much as I like an open top I would get a coupe over a targa. Targa's leak, have wind noise, and chassis flex.

my targa doesn't leak.

and if you want a "nice day" car you would like a topless targa.

Hmmm, Guess that was only a problem with the early cars ? What about chassis flex ?

See when I want a "Nice Day" I just drive the 911 with my girlfriend topless..haha

Differentials wear out earlier than in 993 version C4's.

1989-1992 C2 and C4 (964) 3.6 L engines have no copper sealing gasket between the cylinders and case resulting in possible leakage or seepage of oil (normally repaired under warranty if noticed by owner early on!). Check out Bruce Anderson's Guides to late 911 in Excellence Magazine for more info.;)
