How hard is it to change a sunroof seal?

I have been to the shop 3 times and this is the way the sunroof seal looks a month after the last visit.
Am I missing something? Is this rocket telemetry or do you buy a new seal and just glue it in?
This is the 3rd time I have paid for a new seal, the front is raised up too far the the back seems like there is too much material and doesn't want to lie flat.
Can anyone tell me, do these just glue in (per the shop) or is there another step we have not taken that prevents this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The seals do "just glue in," but the sunroof has to come out and even then, the job is a royal PITA, more often than not resulting in problems much like you have described.

There are DIYs on both Pelican and Rennlist that I followed to do mine, but it was neither fun nor gratifying. The end result was barely acceptable in appearance, but it does not leak water or air so I decided to leave it as is for now.

I just did mine about 2 months ago. It wasn't so bad - and it was my first time. In fact not hard at all - just a little tedious. I followed the threads on here and/or RL - provided all the info needed.

Just do it yourself. Get the exact 3M sealant specified - I got it at O'Reilly's.
Take it slow n easy.

Hi, thanks for the input. The car is Cobalt Blue with a blue interior to match.
Best,

Thank you for posting this link and thank you OP for bringing up this topic. My seal has a small tear so I'm sure it will be due for a replacement sooner rather than later.
