Motronic (crank position sensor)
A little history:
I recently purchased a 91 c2 with ~800 miles on a fresh rebuilt motor. I did the 1000 mile valve adjustment and oil change and all was well. At 1200 miles when warming up I found a significant drip (about one drop per second). Much to my dismay, the shop that did the rebuild "retired" and no warranty.... So to make a long story short, the new shop has diagnosed the problem as a pinched o-ring on the cylinder / case. The engine out to address the oil leak and I just cant help but think this might be a good time to swap out the DMFW I have been researching this to make sure I understand the trade-offs and issues and I found a thread that said to make sure to adjust the "Motronic" sensor to .85mm when replacing the flywheel. I am assuming this was in reference to the crank sensor for the flywheel? I can't seem to find any tech articles and not sure if the post reference to "motronic" was correct. Just wondering if any adjustment is necessary? I want to make sure this is correct as my beautiful wife is loosing her sense of humor with regard to my new passion. ![]() Any help / comments are much appreciated! My semi-new DMFW assembly (minus the pressure plate) will be available soon if anyone is interested. |
